Identify the strengths of this teaching resource
It is highly customisable. It gives pop quizzes a fun interface. It has a leaderboard that doesn’t display those who are losing. Incentivises and doesn’t shame students. It caters to the digitally native students, who probably have an easier time reading/focussing on computers than paper. |
Identify any weaknesses of this teaching resource
Some students may not have a device to use. It is time consuming, and students do not have the option to go faster than their peers. There is the possibility of a technical failure removing a student from the system, or making the whole test fail completely. |
Explain any ideas you may have for further use of this teaching resource
If utilised well, perhaps these types of quizzes could be used as a replacement for official multiple choice tests in the Yr 9/10 area. Students could create tests of their own, possibly as an assessment, and then the class has to sit that test. Each student would put questions from areas they were strong in on the test, and by using all the students tests, there’d be a large range of questions for them to practice on. Plus, teaching others helps student retain their knowledge better. |
